MATERIAL Description
ACETAL Strong, rigid material with low wear and low friction. Resistant to a wide range of chemicals.
ABS Excellent electrical properties and heat resistance; very low moisture absorption.
EPOXY Exceptional mechanical strength, electrical properties and adhesion to most materials.
NYLON A workhorse thermoplastic, for high heat, low moisture absorption, and high impact strength.
OLEFINS (Polypropylene and Polyethylene) Cost effective and easily processed. Favored food and medical industries.
PHENOLIC Lower cost material with good balance of mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties. Color limited to black or brown.
POLYCARBONATE Amorphous in nature, polycarbonate is extremely tough and dimensionally stable. Impact strength makes it useful in portable pumps; transparent.
POLYESTER-VINYL ESTER (Fiberglass) Excellent balance of properties, unlimited to colors, transparent or opaque. Used widely with glass reinforcements.
POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (PVC) An extremely cost effective thermoplastic with good corrosion resistance.
POLYURETHANE Can be flexible or rigid, outstanding toughness and resistance to abrasion and impact.
OTHERS Many other resins and composites possible. Please call with your custom needs.
Reference Guide to Custom Components
Generally thermoset plastics (fiberglass) have better dimensional stability, heat resistance, chemical resistance and electrical properties than thermoplastics. Fillers and glass reinforcements can improve strength, dimensional stability and chemical resistance.
